Football Game vs Presbyterian Cancelled

The Stetson Hatters football game against Presbyterian, which was originally scheduled to be played in Clinton, SC, but was moved to DeLand, has now been cancelled.

The decision was made to cancel the game after the forecast track for Hurricane Florence changed overnight, making it highly possible that the Presbyterian travel party would be unable to get home following the game on Saturday.

With the cancellation, the Hatters will play next on Saturday, September 22, against Marist in the Pioneer Football League opener. The game is scheduled for 1 p.m. and will be played at Spec Martin Memorial Stadium.

The Hatters will celebrate National Ice Cream Day at the game.

Even without the football game, there will be plenty of action on campus this weekend, starting tonight with the men's soccer team hosting Liberty in the ASUN opener for both squads. That game is scheduled to kickoff at 7 p.m. at the ATC.

The Hatters' volleyball team will look to continue its hot start this weekend when they host Brown, Chicago State and Bethune-Cookman for a round robin tournament. Stetson will play its home opener Friday at 6 p.m. against Brown at the Edmunds Center. The Hatters will then play both Chicago State (11 a.m.) and B-CU (6 p.m.) on Saturday.

On Saturday night, the Stetson men's soccer team will be back in action at the ATC when they host rival UCF at 7 p.m.

The weekend will wrap on Sunday when the Stetson women's soccer team hosts UCF. That game is also scheduled for 7 p.m.
