FGCU closed the first half on a 16-0 run and never looked back as the Eagles downed Stetson, 87-65, in ASUN Conference men's basketball, Monday at Alico Arena in Fort Myers.

The Eagles (7-13 overall, 2-3 ASUN) shot 60 percent from the field in the first half, and part of that included the half-ending run which turned a 39-30 game into a 55-30 affair at halftime.

It was more of the same in the second half, as the Eagles pushed lead to as many as 42 points (74-32) with 12:06 to play. Stetson (4-16, 0-5) tried to claw its way back into the game but never got any closer than the final margin.

Four Hatters scored in double figures.
Jalen Crutchfield,
Ricardo Lynch and
Keith Matthews led the Hatters with 11 points each.
Abayomi Iyiola added 10 points and four rebounds. Â

- Jalen Crutchfield scored a career-high 11 points on the strength of 3 of 5 shooting from 3-point range. It was the first double-digit scoring effort of his career.
