Banks, Walters Lift Hatters Past NJIT 74-48

DeLand, Fla. -- Day'Neshia Banks scored a season-high 18 points as Stetson cruised to a 74-48 victory over NJIT Tuesday night at the Edmunds Center.

Addi Walters and McKenna Beach added 16 and 15 points, respectively, as the Hatters (8-11, 3-2 ASUN) improved to 7-2 at home this season.

"I feel like we finally put four quarters together," sophomore Megan Vincent said.  "It was a great game for all of us, and we really needed it."

Stetson jumped out to a 38-28 lead at the half, then stepped on the gas on during a 23-6 third quarter run.

"I thought we played really well," Stetson head coach Lynn Bria said.  "I thought we got good minutes out of Addi Walters, and Mackenzie Davis did a really good job for us as well.  Megs played another good game, so we are getting a lot out of her."

Vincent finished with eight points, eight rebounds and three blocks.  Mackenzie Davis collected seven points and seven assists.

The Hatters shot 48 percent from the floor while holding the Highlanders (5-13, 2-3 ASUN) to just 32 percent.  Stetson never trailed after getting off to a 9-2 start.

The Hatters will go for their fourth home win in a row Saturday against Lipscomb.
