Tough Start Slows Hatters at No. 10 Ohio State

Stetson's Rob Perry led all scorers with 17 points but No. 10 Ohio State proved to be too much for the Hatters as the Buckeyes raced to an 86-51 victory, Monday at Schottenheim Center in Columbus, Ohio.

Perry was 5 of 14 from the field and 4 of 7 from 3-point range, adding a team-high 8 rebounds to his line. Ohio State was led by Kyle Young, who recorded a double-double with 25 points and 10 boards.

The Buckeyes (4-0) limited Stetson to 14 percent shooting in the first half (4-28). Ohio State countered with 48 percent shooting in the opening 20 minutes and led 42-14 at halftime.

Stetson (2-2) regrouped somewhat in the second half, shooting 41 percent from the field, but by then it was too late.

Mahamadou Diawara scored all 9 of his points in the second half. Christiaan Jones also finished with 9 points for Stetson.

Kaleb Wesson (13) and D.J. Carton (10) joined Young in double figures for the Buckeyes.

Stetson next faces Iona, 6 p.m., Friday in ASUN MAAC Challenge as ESPN Wide World of Sports in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
