Hatters Sign Michigan Guard Xeryia Tartt for 2020-21

DeLand, Fla. -- Stetson University women's basketball head coach Lynn Bria announced the signing Wednesday of Xeryia Tartt (Flint, Mich./Hamady HS) to a National Letter of Intent.

A 5-8 combo guard, Tartt helped lead Hamady High School to a regional championship and the Michigan Division 3 state championship game last season.  She earned first team All-State honors from the Associated Press and second team All-State honors from the Detroit Free Press after averaging 15.6 points, 6.4 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game.

As a sophomore, Tartt helped lead Carman-Ainsworth High School to a school-record 22 victories.  She has been selected as a first team all-conference performer for three consecutive seasons.

"Xeryia is a wing who can post up or step out," Bria said.  "I just like her versatility.  She is aggressive, she rebounds the ball hard, and she is just a really strong player.  She has excellent grades and a great family.  I think she will fit in really well at Stetson University and in our program."

Tartt is the first member of the Hatters' 2020 signing class.  She was also a teammate of Maddie Novak on the 1Nation Elite Girls AAU team in Michigan.

"I chose Stetson because it feels like home," Tartt said.  "I feel as though I am already part of the team."

Stetson (2-3) will host Trinity Baptist at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Edmunds Center.
