Hatters Dominate Wildcats

Stetson women's tennis turned in a dominating performance on Friday with a 6-1 win over Bethune-Cookman at City Island Tennis Center in Daytona Beach.
 
The Hatters (3-1) sept through doubles play.  Stetson's No. 1 tandem of Lucie Renault & Danel Ashirova secured a 6-1 victory, and the No. 2 duo of Brooke Milner & Vicky Geurinckx also prevailed by a 6-1 score. Megan Horwitz & Alexe Viaud completed the sweep with a 7-6 win at No. 3.
 
Stetson won five of six matches in singles play. Ashirova (6-2, 6-1), Milner (6-3, 6-1), Geurinckx (6-3, 6-1), Viaud (6-4, 6-4) and Horwitz (6-2, 6-3) all won in straight sets.
 
The Hatters next host Florida A&M, 10 a.m., Sunday at Mandy Stoll Tennis Center.
