Hatters Sweep FAMU

Stetson women's tennis turned in yet another dominating performance on Sunday with a 7-0 victory over visiting Florida A&M at Mandy Stoll Tennis Center.
 
The Hatters (4-1) won their third straight match. Stetson made quick work of the Rattlers in doubles play, as the No. 1 tandem of Danel Ashirova & Lucie Renault (6-1) and the No. 3 duo of Alexe Viaud & Megan Horwitz (6-2) breezed to victory.
 
Leading 1-0, the Hatters continued to dominate in singles play. Horwitz captured Stetson's first singles victory with a 6-0, 6-3 win on Court 6, and Ashirova followed with a 6-2, 6-1 win on Court 1.
 
Viaud clinched the match for the Hatters on Court 5 as she emerged with a 6-1, 6-4 victory. Vicky Geurinckx held off her opponent on Court 4 (6-2, 6-4) and Brooke Milner closed the day by rallying for a 2-6, 7-6 (3), 1-0 (6) win at Court 3.
 
The Hatters next head west for a pair of matches in Colorado Springs, Colo., as they face Abilene Christian, 3 p.m., Friday, and Air Force, 7:30 p.m., Saturday.
