Hatters Drop A Pair at Citrus Blossom Classic

Lake Buena Vista, Fla. -- Stetson dropped its first two games at the Citrus Blossom Classic, falling 14-0 to Troy and 6-2 to Saint Joseph's Friday afternoon at ESPN Wide World of Sports.

The Hatters (0-4) were held to just one hit against Troy (4-2) before collecting a season-high 12 hits against Saint Joseph's (2-0).

Elizabeth Jackson went 3-for-4 against the Hawks, while Riley Russell, Devin Lewis, Linda Ross and Kasey Fava collected two hits apiece.  Fava drove in a pair of runs with a bases loaded single in the top of the second inning.  Blake Crews also recorded two hits on the day.

All four Stetson pitchers saw action on Friday.  Jaime Tino pitched in both games and struck out three in 3.0 innings of relief vs. Saint Joseph's.

The Hatters will face Providence at 11 a.m. and Villanova at 1:30 p.m. Saturday on Day 2 of the Citrus Blossom Classic.
