Dominant Hatters Top Georgia Southern

Stetson men's tennis dominated Georgia Southern on Friday, downing the Eagles, 6-1, at Wallis Tennis Center in Statesboro, Ga.
 
"I am very proud of how the team performed today," said head coach Christophe Noblet. "The attention to the details we are working on as individuals showed as we got a good team result. Everyone did their job. We started off right from the doubles and finished strong to the last singles."
 
Stetson (5-5) swept its way to the doubles point. Antoine Sanchez & Colter DeCoste earned a 6-1 win on Court 2, and Josh Laka & Tim Gennes clinched the point with a 6-4 win on Court 3.
 
The Hatters continued to roll in singles play. Coilin MacNamars gave Stetson a 2-0 lead with a 6-2, 6-3 win on Court 5 and after Georgia Southern picked up a win on Court 1, the Hatters took a 3-1 lead as Louis Gorregues pulled out a 6-3, 6-3 win on Court 2.
 
Antoine Sanchez clinched the match for the Hatters with a 6-3, 2-6, 6-1 win on Court 3. Tim Gennes was a 1-6, 6-2, 6-4 victor on Court 4, and Christian Mills finished off the day with a 7-6, 0-6, 1-0 (10-3) win on Court 6.
 
The Hatters continue play when they face East Carolina, Saturday in Statesboro.
