Hatters Fall to UNF on Senior Night 75-62

Day'Neshia Banks Scores a Career-High 25 Points

DeLand, Fla. -- UNF shot 49 percent from the floor and 57 percent from the arc in a 75-62 victory over Stetson Wednesday night at the Edmunds Center.

The Hatters (15-13, 10-4 ASUN) saw their lead over North Alabama for second place in the ASUN standings reduced to just a single game with two to go.

The Ospreys' Jazz Bond scored 22 points as UNF (13-13, 8-7 ASUN) completed a season sweep of Stetson.

"Our defense was really disappointing," Stetson head coach Lynn Bria said.  "I think it's tough to beat anybody when you are not going to guard.  I thought we rebounded really well, but I didn't think we got stops when we needed to. They shot an incredible field goal percentage because we didn't guard."

Day'Neshia Banks led the Hatters with a career-high 25 points, going 10-for-17 from the floor and playing a full 40 minutes.  Jon'Nita Henry registered her first career double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds in 37 minutes.

"(Day'Neshia) played really well. She was very aggressive," Bria said. "(Megan Vincent) gave us what she could. I thought Jon'Nita did a great job, but we have to have more people show up."

Stetson pulled down 36 rebounds, including 18 on the offensive end that led to 25 second chance points.  UNF scored 22 points off of turnovers.

The loss also spoiled the Hatters' senior night as the program recognized the achievements of Sarah Sagerer and McKenna Beach prior to the game.

Stetson will play its final two regular season games on the road, beginning at 2 p.m. Saturday at Kennesaw State.

Notes:
  • Day'Neshia Banks scored in double figures for the 12th straight game
  • Megan Vincent recorded multiple blocks for the 11th straight game
  • Jon'Nita Henry had career-highs of 11 rebounds and four blocks
  • UNF benefited from three separate 10-0 runs including one to start the game
  • Stetson led by as many as five in the second quarter
