Stetson's current four-game winning streak began with two wire-to-wire victories over NJIT and Lipscomb.

Such was not the case with the team's two wins last week in which Stetson trailed in the fourth quarter against both Jacksonville and Kennesaw State.

While McKenna Beach scored the go-ahead baskets in each game and finished with a career-high 37 points against the Owls, the Hatters needed a total team effort to come out on top.  Let's look back at some of the other key moments down the stretch in the past two games:

At Jacksonville:
  • With the Hatters trailing 53-52 with under five minutes to play, Mackenzie Davis made a perfect skip pass to Beach for the go-ahead 3.  Davis wasn't finished as she fed Megan Vincent in the paint twice for two key layups to help Stetson increase its lead to six.
  • In game where the Dolphins had a big advantage on the glass, Day'Neshia Banks collected three big defensive rebounds in the final five minutes to limit Jacksonville's second chance opportunities.
  • "They had killed us on the glass, but we rebounded at the end when we needed to," Stetson head coach Lynn Bria said.  "When we got them to miss, and they only got one shot.  I thought that was the difference in the game at the end."
vs. Kennesaw:
  • Megan Vincent had three big plays down the stretch against the Owls.  With 5:33 to go, her offensive rebound and putback broke a 61-61 tie and helped slow Kennesaw's momentum.
  • "Megan's putback was huge for us," Bria said.  "We really needed something to go our way."
  • On the other end, with the score tied at 64 and 3:03 to go, Vincent came up big again, blocking Kamiyah Street's putback attempt that would put Kennesaw in front.  Instead, the Hatters scored on their next possession to take the lead for good.
  • After the Hatters built a five-point lead and the Owls were effectively down to their last possession, Vincent stepped out to the arc to intercept a pass and seal the victory for Stetson.

Tuesday, the Hatters (11-11, 6-2 ASUN) will go for their fifth win in a row when they visit the Liberty Flames (9-12, 5-3 ASUN).  Tip-off at the Vines Center in Lynchburg is set for 11 a.m. with live coverage on ESPN+.

While Stetson has won four straight, Liberty has won five in a row and is just a game behind the third-place Hatters in the ASUN standings.  Emily Lytle averages 12.6 ppg to lead the Flames.

Stetson is averaging 73.8 points-per-game during its four-game win streak.  Beach, Banks, Addi Walters and Vincent are all scoring in double figures in ASUN play.

Stetson defeated Liberty 69-52 in DeLand back on Jan. 8 in the first meeting this season between the two teams.  The Hatters lead the all-time series 2-0.

In addition to the ESPN+ broadcast, live stats, the Stetson women's basketball twitter feed, and the HatCheck text messaging service will provide live updates as well.
