Hatters Earn Saturday Split

Stetson men's tennis split a pair of road matches on Saturday, losing at USF in the morning before posting a solid win at Florida Southern in the afternoon.
 
After getting swept at USF by a 7-0 score to start the day, the Hatters regrouped and picked up a 5-2 win at Florida Southern.
 
Stetson (3-3) started strong against the Division II Mocs, winning two of three doubles to win the team point. The No. 2 tandem of Coilin MacNamara & Clement Hamel earned a 6-1 victory, while Louis Gorregues & Antoine Sanchez clinched the point with a 7-5 win on Court 3.
 
Hamel started the Hatters off on the right foot in singles with an impressive 6-1, 6-2 victory on Court 2. Gorregues gave the Hatters a 3-0 lead with a 7-6 (5), 6-3 victory on Court 1.
 
Freshman Dennis Moses clinched the match for the Hatters when he earned his first collegiate dual match victory with a 6-4, 6-2 win on Court 6.
 
Josh Laka closed out the match for the Hatters with a 7-6 (5), 7-5 win on Court 5.
 
The Hatters next Tennessee Tech on Saturday, Feb. 16 in Boca Raton.
