Lizzie Shubert Named ASUN Softball Player of the Week

Hatter shortstop batted .417 with two HR and eight RBI

DeLand, Fla. -- Stetson University sophomore shortstop Lizzie Shubert was named ASUN Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.

Shubert batted .417 with two home runs and eight RBI to help lead Stetson to a 3-1 week. She hit a pair of three-run home runs, one against Princeton on Tuesday and one against Jacksonville on Saturday, on her way to slugging 1.000 for the week. She also hit an RBI double against the Dolphins and helped Stetson win its first ASUN series since 2016. She hit safely in all four games for the week.

Shubert has three home runs and 13 RBI for the season. It is her first career ASUN Player of the Week award.

The Hatters (11-17, 2-1 ASUN) will host North Alabama this weekend for a three-game series at Patricia Wilson Field. The teams will play at doubleheader at 1 p.m. Saturday and a single game at 11 a.m. Sunday.
