Hatters Drop Two to North Alabama

Curstin Taylor Pitches 6.1 Innings in Game 1

DeLand, Fla. -- Stetson dropped both ends of an ASUN doubleheader Saturday afternoon to North Alabama, 9-5 and 2-0 at Patricia Wilson Field.

The Lions (17-10, 3-2 ASUN) scored eight runs in the first inning of game one and got a five-hit shutout from Sidney Revels in game two.

Kasey Fava had three hits on the day to lead the Hatters (11-19, 2-3 ASUN). Devin Lewis, Elizabeth Jackson, Ashly Smith and Blake Crews each drove in runs.

Curstin Taylor pitched 6.1 innings of relief in game one, allowing just one unearned run.  She walked one and struck out one.

Tori Perkins went the distance in game two, striking out the side in the top of the fifth.  She allowed just two runs on five hits.

The teams will play the series finale at 11 a.m. Sunday.
