Hatters Blank Kennesaw State

Stetson women's tennis rolled to a 7-0 victory at ASUN Conference foe Kennesaw State on Saturday.
 
For the Hatters (11-7 overall, 2-3 ASUN), Saturday's result was a nice recovery after suffering a lopsided loss on Thursday at Liberty.
 
"We responded well today after the loss to Liberty," Stetson head coach Travis Sandlant said. "We pushed ourselves to have a solid team effort today and we responded well."
 
Stetson dominated play against the Owls (2-14, 1-4), easily winning the doubles point and sweeping through singles without dropping a set.
 
In doubles, Danel Ashirova & Lucie Renault started things off the with a 6-1 win on Court 1, and Megan Horwitz & Alexe Viaud clinched the point with a 6-3 win on Court 3.
 
Renault was the first Hatter on the board in singles, taking a 6-0, 6-2 win on Court 2 for a 2-0 Stetson lead.
 
Vicky Geurinckx followed suit with a 6-4, 6-1 win on Court 4, and Brooke Milner clinched the team victory with a 6-1, 6-3 triumph on Court 3.
 
Viaud earned a 6-1, 6-3 win on Court 6, and Danielle Peele managed a 6-2, 6-2 win on Court 5. Ashirova closed out the day for the Hatters with a 7-5, 6-1 victory on Court 1.
 
The Hatters open their final regular-season weekend of the year when they host North Alabama, 10 a.m., Thursday, April 11 at Mandy Stoll Tennis Center in DeLand.
