Reece Duff Named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District Team

DeLand, Fla. -- Stetson University sophomore runner Reece Duff has been named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District team for men's track and field and cross country, it was announced by CoSIDA on Tuesday.

Duff, a Molecular Biology major with a 3.97 cumulative GPA, competed in all five cross country races for the Hatters this past fall. He posted a personal-best 8K time of 26:22.2 at the UF Mountain Dew Invitational in September. Duff also placed 46th at the ASUN Championship with a time of 27:39.7, helping Stetson record its highest-ever team finish (fourth). He was selected to the ASUN All-Academic team following the season.

Duff was the only sophomore selected on the 10-member Academic All-District Men's Track and Field/Cross Country Team for District 4, which includes programs from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Puerto Rico. It is his first career Academic All-District selection, and the third for the Stetson men's cross country program. Joe Beery was selected in 2015 and 2017.

The 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Duff advances to the national ballot for Academic All-America consideration.
