Game Recap: Women's Soccer | | Athletic Communications

Hatters Downed by South Alabama

Five different players scored goals for South Alabama as the Jaguars handed Stetson women's soccer a 5-1 setback, Sunday in the Jaguar Classic in Mobile, Ala.
 
South Alabama (3-0-1) opened the scoring with a goal from Athanasia Moraitou in the 28th minute, and they kept that 1-0 lead into halftime.
 
The Jags added two more goals before Stetson (1-3) got on the board. Freshman Maggie Struble scored her first collegiate goal in the 61st minute to help the Hatters get to within 3-1. Lindsey Parent and Alex Milano assisted on the score.
 
South Alabama added two more goals in the final 15 minutes to secure the win.
 
Freshman goalkeeper Lara Bates made eight saves for the Hatters.
 
Stetson next is scheduled to host Georgia Southern, 7 p.m., Thursday at the Athletic Training Center in DeLand.
