Hatters Fall at Miami

Four different players scored goals as Miami cruised to a 4-0 win over Stetson, Thursday in Coral Gables, Fla.

Miami (3-1-1) scored once in the first half and three times in the final 45 minutes to get the win. The Hurricanes out-shot Stetson (2-4-0) by a 22-8 margin for the game.

After multiple lightning delays kept the teams off the field for some 90 minutes midway through the first half, play eventually resumed and Miami grabbed a 1-0 lead when Kristina Fisher scored with less than a minute to play before the break.

Maria Jakobsdottir gave Miami a 2-0 lead in the 58th minute. Ariana Munoz scored in the 67th minute for a 3-0 lead, and Sierra Frey capped the scoring with the final goal of the night for the Hurricanes in the 69th minute.

Freshman Lara Bates faced all 22 shots and made nine saves in goal for the Hatters.

Stetson next visits UCF, 6 p.m., Sunday.
