When the Stetson volleyball team hits the court for practice Thursday night in Miami, it will be the first time in nearly a week the full team has been together.

Stetson University's closure for Hurricane Dorian forced the team to evacuate campus this week and wait out the storm. The Hatters reconvened and left campus Thursday morning for the trip to Miami.

The hurricane also altered the schedule for this weekend's FIU Panther Fest.  With Charleston Southern unable to make the trek down south, the Hatters (1-1) will now face FIU (0-3) at 12:30 p.m. Friday and Hofstra (2-2) at 9 a.m. Saturday.  Live stats will be available at FIUSports.com.

Stetson split its two matches last Friday at FAU, defeating Niagara 3-0 before falling to the host Owls 3-1.  Elena Djokovic led the team with 21 kills while Kaylee Oscarson hit .500 (18-1-34).  Defensively, the Hatters averaged 16.9 digs and 1.71 blocks-per-set.

The FIU Panther Fest marks the second of four tournaments for the Hatters.  Next weekend, Stetson will be in Jacksonville, Ala. for the JSU Gamecock Classic.

Notes: Stetson went 3-0 at FIU last season, defeating Tennessee State, Florida A&M and FIU in the season-opening tournament ... The Hatters are 15-26 all-time vs. FIU and 0-1 vs. Hofstra ... The only previous meeting between the Hatters and Pride came at the Air Force Academy in 2002 ... Junior Chelcie Spence ranks 15th in school history with 915 career digs.
