Lipscomb Holds Off Hatters 65-59

Stetson Falls to 1-1 in ASUN Play

DeLand, Fla. – Taylor Clark scored 31 points as Lipscomb held off a late Hatter rally to defeat Stetson 65-59 Monday night at the Edmunds Center.

The Bisons (4-11, 1-1 ASUN) led 51-38 entering the fourth quarter, but a 15-0 run by the Hatters (7-8, 1-1 ASUN) gave Stetson a two-point advantage.  Lipscomb answered with a 3-pointer by Jalyn Holcomb, however, to take the lead for good.  Stetson got back within one with 2:42 to go but could not pull even.

Day'Neshia Banks led the Hatters with 15 points and eight rebounds, while Megan Vincent added 10 points.

Holcolm joined Clark in double figures with 20 points for the Bisons.

Stetson shot just 37 percent from the floor and 61 percent from the free throw line.  Lipscomb went 13-for-15 from the line and hit eight 3-pointers.

The Hatters will look to bounce back when they host No. 25 FGCU at 1 p.m. Saturday.
