Hatters Sign Najla Cecunjanin and McKenna Eddings

DeLand, Fla. -- Stetson women's basketball head coach Lynn Bria announced the signing Thursday of Najla Cecunjanin (Cromwell, Conn. / Wilbraham & Monson Academy) and McKenna Eddings (Williamsburg, Va. / Warhill HS) to National Letters-of-Intent.

Cecunjanin, a 6-1 forward, averaged 14.7 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.9 steals and 1.8 assists last season at Wilbraham & Monson Academy. She shot 41 percent from 3-point range and was named to the All-NEPSAC First Team for Class C. She was also selected to play in the New England Prep School Athletic Council Class C All-Star Game.

"Najla has good size," Bria said.  "She can play with her back to the basket, she can score, and she can step out and shoot a 3.  She is a good pick and pop type player and just very committed to the game.  I really like her skill set overall."

Eddings, a 5-11 forward, helped lead Warhill High School to a 20-2 overall record and a 17-1 league mark last year.  She averaged 14.8 points, 12.6 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 6.2 steals and 2.5 blocks per game, collecting 17 double-doubles and 5 triple-doubles on the season.  She was an All-Class 4 Region A first team and an All-Tidewater second team selection.

"McKenna is very athletic," Bria said.  "She is going to be a great defender for us.  She can also really score in the post, she can elevate over people, and she can also step out and shoot. I think she will be really good for us."

Cecunjanin and Eddings join Alyssa Hargrove as Stetson's 2020 fall signing class.

"All three come from great families," Bria said.  "I think all three are going to contribute right away to help our program. I see all of them as impact players for us.  I think they are going to fit very well into our culture."

The Hatters are scheduled to open the season at home on Nov. 25 vs. Florida National.
