Hatters Smothered at Florida

GAINESVILLE, Fla.--Rob Perry scored 13 points for Stetson, but Florida limited the Hatters to 20 percent shooting as the Gators handed Stetson an 86-40 defeat, Sunday at the O'Connell Center.
 
Chase Johnston joined Perry in double digits for the Hatters (0-3) with 10 points, and fellow freshman Keith Lamar had 10 rebounds. But Stetson's offense never found any rhythm as the Hatters were just 4 of 23 from 3-point range and committed 23 turnovers.
 
Keyontae Johnson led the Gators (3-0) with 19 points, while Noah Locke added 15.
 
Florida led, 34-15, at halftime.
 
The Hatters next face USF, 5 p.m., Tuesday, in Tampa.
