Chloe Temples Named ASUN Pitcher of the Week

Hatter freshman goes 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA

DeLand, Fla. -- Following a 2-0 week in the circle, Stetson University softball freshman Chloe Temples (Marianna, Fla.) has been named the ASUN Conference Pitcher of the Week, the league announced on Monday.

Temples pitched a pair of complete game victories at The Springs Games, beginning with a five-hit shutout of Central Michigan on Friday in a game the Hatters won 6-0. She then defeated the Chippewas again on Saturday, allowing just five hits and no earned runs in an 8-1 Stetson victory. She struck out 10 batters on the week and walked just two, posting a 0.00 ERA. She held opponents to a .192 batting average overall and a .107 mark with runners on base.

For the season, Temples is 4-1 with a 1.00 ERA. She is tied for the league lead in wins (4) and complete games (5), and she ranks second in ERA.

Temples is the Stetson's first Pitcher of the Week honoree since Tori Perkins and Brooke Hutto were selected in 2016.

The Hatters (5-4) will compete at the Diamond 9 Citrus Classic this weekend at ESPN Wide World of Sports in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
