Banks Scores 25 but Hatters Fall to Liberty

Stetson clinches ASUN Championship berth

Lynchburg, Va. -- Day'Neshia Banks scored 25 points but Stetson fell to Liberty 73-53 Saturday afternoon at the Vines Center.

Despite the loss, the Hatters (11-15, 5-8 ASUN) clinched a berth in the ASUN Championship for the 17th consecutive season.  Three regular season games remain to determine the team's seeding before the tournament begins in March.

Banks was 11-for-18 from the floor and 2-for-4 from the arc to post her highest scoring game in conference play. Overall, she has recorded double figures in 23 of 26 games this season.

Kimia Carter was Stetson's next highest scorer Saturday with eight points.  Megan Vincent became the 25th player in school history to record 500 career rebounds. 

Emily Lytle scored 20 points to lead the Flames (15-11, 8-5 ASUN).  Liberty held a 39-24 edge on the glass.

The Hatters will visit NJIT at 7 p.m. Monday.
