Stetson Splits on Day Two of the Hatter Classic

Devin Lewis hits third home run of the season

DeLand, Fla. -- Devin Lewis hit a two-run home and freshman Lauren Klein pitched a six-hit shutout as Stetson blanked Sacred Heart 2-0 Saturday afternoon at Patricia Wilson Field.

Northern Kentucky defeated the Hatters 3-0 in the nightcap as Stetson (10-14) split for the second straight day in the Hatter Classic.

In the opener, Lewis accounted for the only runs of the game with a two-run home run down the left field line in the bottom of the fourth inning.  It was her second home run in as many games and her third home run of the season.

Klein went the distance for her second career win and her first career shutout. She allowed just six hits and two walks while striking out three.  Sacred Heart was just 1-for-14 with runners on base.

Jaime Tino was the tough luck pitcher of record in Game 2.  She allowed just three hits over seven innings, one of which was a two-run home run by Ava Lawson.  The Hatters collected seven hits and a walk but could not break through against Taylor Ginther.

Lizzie Shubert had two hits including a double.

The Hatters will host Fairfield at Noon on Sunday in the final game of the Hatter Classic.
