Hatter Chatter - episode 9

Football Ricky Hazel, Associate AD

Jordan Sabo, from Pittsburgh to Stetson and Beyond, on Hatter Chatter

Pittsburgh to the core, Jordan Sabo found his way to Stetson by chance. In this episode of Hatter Chatter ... The Podcast, presented by Insight Credit Union, learn how Sabo made his way to DeLand from western Pennsylvania, walked-on to the football team, and worked his way onto the field by his senior season.

Sabo was a 4-time All-PFL honor roll student in molecular biology who, in his free time, also played on, and eventually ran, the club baseball team at Stetson. He talks about how he managed it all during his years at Stetson while getting just two or three hours of sleep per night.

Now, Sabo has taken his experiences overcoming adversity and challenges into a new role, working for a genomics firm in an immunology lab near his hometown. His work will help in the battle against Covid 19 by testing for resistance to the disease.

He has been doing that since graduating in 2018 while, at the same time, working toward an MBA at Robert Morris University, which he received in early May.

A fascinating conversation that includes how Stetson prepared him for his career and plenty of Pittsburgh sports talk on this edition of Hatter Chatter … The Podcast, presented by Insight Credit Union.
