Hatters Roll Past Carver, 110-56

DeLAND--Stetson connected on a school-record 19 3-pointers as the Hatters routed Carver College, 110-56, Monday at Edmunds Center.

Six Hatters scored in double figures, led by Rob Perry's 21 points. Joel Kabimba (15), Chase Johnston (14), Wheza Panzo (12), Mahamadou Diawara (11), and Christiaan Jones (10) also reached double digits.

The Hatters dominated from the start, racing to a 16-0 lead in the game's first five minutes. Stetson's advantage reached 30 points for the first time when Johnston connected on a fast-break 3-pointer for a 37-7 advantage with 6:50 left in the half.

Stetson led, 59-18, at halftime, as the Hatters made 11 3-pointers in the first half.

The only mystery remaining as the second half began was whether the Hatters would break the school record of 18 3-pointers. The drama lasted until the game's final minute, when Davante Robinson knocked down a 3 from the left wing with 56 seconds remaining for Stetson's 19th 3-pointer of the game. It was Robinson's only basket of the night.

Bryson Scott led the Cougars with 22 points. Antwon Ferrell chipped in 12 points off the bench.
