Hatters Rally Past Kennesaw to Complete Weekend Sweep

Megan Vincent records her 600th career rebound

Kennesaw, Ga. -- Yazz Wazeerud-Din led four Hatters in double figures with 20 points as Stetson defeated Kennesaw State 64-53 Sunday afternoon at the KSU Convocation Center.

The Hatters (7-10, 5-7 ASUN) shot 44 percent from the floor and committed a season-low nine turnovers in completing a two-game road sweep over the Owls (6-11, 1-11).

With the victories, Stetson moved past Bellarmine and into a tie for fifth place in the league standings.

The Hatters trailed 25-21 at the break, but a 25-point scoring outburst in the third quarter gave the Stetson the lead for good.  Wazeerud-Din scored 14 of her game-high 20 points in the second half to help lead the Hatters' comeback efforts.

Kiya Turner and Maddie Novak each scored 11 points and Megan Vincent chipped in 10.  Jamiya Turner filled up the scoresheet with 7 points, 8 rebounds, and a career-high 6 assists. Stetson also hit 8 times from behind the arc.

Stetson's four-game road swing continues next weekend at Liberty.
