Hatters Held Scoreless by Jacksonville

Jacksonville scored early and stifled the Hatters' offense en route to a 3-0 victory over Stetson, Friday night at the Athletic Training Center

In the 9th minute of the match, Jacksonville midfielder Reed Davis scored off of a breakaway pass from Jose Manzo. Davis added a second goal midway through the second half, again assisted by Manzo.

In the 72nd minute, Mason Tunbridge added some insurance for Jacksonville (1-2-1), scoring the Dolphins' third goal of the night to all but shut the door on Stetson.

The undermanned Hatters (0-2) featured six freshmen in the starting lineup, and an additional five freshmen entered the match as substitutes.

The Hatters were not without their opportunities in the match. Stetson outshot Jacksonville 13-7, but the Hatters were unable to find the back of the net.

Ajmeer Spengler led Stetson with four shots on the night. Franck Kouentchi and Christian Vinasco each added three shots of their own.

The Hatters will return to play when they visit UNF, 7 p.m. next Saturday night in Jacksonville, F.L.
