Hatters, Ospreys Battle to 1-1 Draw

JACKSONVILLE—Stetson and North Florida battled to a 1-1 draw in ASUN Conference men's soccer action, Saturday at Hodges Stadium, leaving both teams still looking for their first conference victory.
 
The game was scoreless through the first half, but both teams found the back of the net in the second half.
 
Stetson's Christian Vinasco scored his first goal of the season in the 58th minute, giving the Hatters a 1-0 lead.
 
UNF (2-1-2, 0-0-2) tied things up in the 68th minute as Robbie Soronellas scored an unassisted goal.
 
Neither team scored again, as the teams battled through 110 minutes with just one goal apiece.
 
The teams weren't short on chances, combining for 31 shots. But Stetson managed just two shots on-goal, while UNF mustered six such shots.
 
Stetson goalkeeper Michael Smith made his first start of the season and performed well, making 5 saves while playing all 110 minutes. UNF keeper Holden Giesecke made one save.
 
The Hatters return to action when they visit Jacksonville, 1 p.m., Saturday, March 13.
