Hatters Blanked at Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.—Jacksonville's Oliver Correa scored a pair of goals to lead the Dolphins to a 2-0 win in ASUN Conference play against Stetson, Saturday at Southern Oak Stadium.
 
The Hatters (0-3-1 overall, 0-2-1 ASUN) matched the Dolphins (2-3-1, 2-1-0) shot-for-shot, but they couldn't penetrate the goal.
 
Jacksonville got on the board in the 23rd minute when Correra scored off an assist by Reggie Nicolas.
 
Correa struck again in the 79th minute. With Stetson playing a man down after a red card, Correa combined with teammates Joshua Araujo-Wilson and Mohamed Soumah to give the Dolphins a 2-0 lead.
 
Stetson's best scoring opportunity in the second half came in the 61st minute when Oliver Bryneus' shot was saved by JU keeper Matt Levy, who also stopped three Stetson shots in the first half.
 
Freshman Michael Smith made his second straight start in goal for the Hatters and made two saves.
 
Stetson's next match is 7 p.m., Saturday, March 20 against FGCU at the Athletic Training Center in DeLand.
