Hatters Sweep UNF for First ASUN Win

DeLand, Fla. -- Elena Djokovic led the way with 16 kills as Stetson cruised to a 3-0 sweep over UNF in Game 2 of an ASUN series Friday night at the Edmunds Center.

Thanks in part to staving off four set points in Set 2, the Hatters (2-3, 1-3 ASUN) won by scores of 25-19, 29=27 and 25-17 to capture their first conference victory of the season.  The two teams split their two-game series.

Middle blocker Kaylee Oscarson hit .526 (11-1-19) and posted 11 kills to help lead the offense. Alexis Thompson blocked six UNF attacks as part of an 8-block night for the Hatters defense.

Chelcie Spence picked up 13 digs, bringing her just 14 shy of breaking the Stetson all-time record.  Alejandra Perez chipped in nine kills and 12 digs.

Naina Ivanova dished out 39 assists as the Hatters hit a season-high .291. 

Solimar Cestero had 12 kills to lead the Ospreys (4-6, 4-2).

Stetson will return to action next Friday and Saturday vs. Jacksonville.
