Hatters Drop Game 2 at Lipscomb, 66-54

Yazz Wazeerud-Din ties a season-high with 22 points

Nashville, Tenn. -- A 16-0 run at the end of the first half proved to be the difference as Lipscomb defeated Stetson 66-54 Sunday afternoon at Allen Arena.

The Bisons (7-7, 4-4 ASUN) improved to 7-0 at home after taking both games of the ASUN weekend series.

Yazz Wazeerud-Din led the Hatters (4-9, 2-6) with 22 points, tying a season-high.  She went 7-for-8 from the free throw line, extending her streak to 33 consecutive makes before missing once late in the 4th quarter. Maria Visone added 11 points and Tippy Robertson chipped in eight.

The Hatters shot 35 times from behind the arc, tying a school single-game record.  Only eight of those attempts found their mark, however, resulting in a .229 3-point shooting percentage.

Jordan Peete led four Bisons in double figures with 13 points.

Stetson will return to action next weekend. The ASUN will announce the schedule early this week.

Notes:
  • The Hatters outscored the Bisons in the 1st, 3rd, and 4th quarters, but Lipscomb outscored Stetson 29-12 in the second stanza
  • Stetson started the game on a 13-0 run, tying for their longest run of the season
