Hats Fall in Overtime in ASUN Quarterfinal

Marietta, Ga. -- The fourth-seeded Lipscomb Lady Bisons defeated the fifth-seeded Stetson Hatters 50-47 in overtime Thursday afternoon in the quarterfinals of the ASUN Conference Championship at the KSU Event Center.

The Hatters (9-13) led for over 35 minutes in regulation, but the Bisons (12-9) battled back to force overtime and outscored Stetson 6-3 in the extra session.

Maddie Novak scored a career-high 20 points to lead the Hatters. She hit six 3-pointers, including one in overtime that tied the game at 47.  Dorie Harrison's layup with 1:36 to play broke the tie and put the Bisons in front for good.

Stetson scored 19 first quarter points and made 5-of-7 shots from behind the arc.  The Hatters scored just 28 points, however, over the final three-and-a-half periods.  Stetson shot 31 percent for the game.

Yazz Wazeerud-Din joined Novak in double figures with 14 points.  Megan Vincent blocked five shots.

Lipscomb advances to Friday's semifinal round.
