ASUN Softball Standings

Preview
Fresh off a doubleheader sweep of South Dakota on Wednesday, the Stetson softball team will open ASUN Conference play with a three-game series this weekend at FGCU.  The Hatters and Eagles will play a doubleheader at 2 p.m. Saturday and a single game at 1 p.m. Sunday. All three games will be streamed on YouTube Live (FGCU).

It has been two years since Stetson last played an ASUN series, dating back to May 4-5, 2019.

All-Time Series
Stetson leads the all-time series 19-17 over FGCU, while the Eagles hold a 13-3 advantage in the series in Fort Myers.

6-RBI day
Freshman catcher Jordyn Stanfill drove in six runs against the Coyotes on Wednesday. She also hit her first career home run, a 3-run shot to left, in Game 1.

Pitching Performances
Freshman Lauren Hobbs picked up her first win in the circle in Game 2 Wednesday.  She struck out eight over seven innings of work.  Hobbs and Chloe Temples perhaps became the first set of Stetson southpaws to win in the circle on the same day. Temples pitched a five-hit shutout in Game 1, striking out five over five innings.

On the Bases
The Hatters have stolen 32 bases in just 10 games this season, an average of 3.2 steals-per-game. That total leads the ASUN and ranks 4th in the NCAA. The Hatters have three individuals in the top 30 nationally in steals per game: Elizabeth Jackson (3rd), Riley Russell (4th), and Brianna Clary (29th).

Climbing the Home Run Charts
With her two home runs this season, senior Lizzie Shubert ranks ninth all-time in school history with 17 career home runs.  Next up on the all-time list is Jessica Griffin with 20 homers.

The Head Coach
Stetson's Frank Griffin is in his 25th season as head coach of the Hatters and holds a school record of 757-532 (.585).  With 982 career victories in 32 seasons, Griffin ranks 26th on the all-time NCAA Division I wins list. He is 18 wins shy of the 1000-victory mark for his career.

Up Next
Stetson will visit Jacksonville next weekend.
