Hatters Fall Twice in ASUN Opener

Fort Myers, Fla. -- Stetson dropped both ends of an ASUN Conference doubleheader to FGCU Saturday, falling 5-1 and 4-2 at the FGCU Softball Complex. It was Stetson's first conference games since May, 2019.

Lizzie Shubert registered an RBI triple in Game 1 to lead the Hatters (4-8, 0-2 ASUN). Nyah Morgan and Danielle Diaz also collected doubles. Morgan and Alyssa Gilman each drove in runs in Game 2.

Chloe Temples (2-4) went the distance in the opener, while Lauren Hobbs and Jaime Tino (2-4) combined for six innings in the circle in Game 2.

Catcher Jordyn Stanfill cut down three would-be basestealers from behind the plate.

Taylor Bauman hit a 2-run home run in Game 1 to lead the Eagles (11-9, 2-0 ASUN).  
 
The two teams will wrap up their three-game series at 1 p.m. Sunday.
