Big Fifth Set Lifts Hatters Past UNF 3-2

Jacksonville, Fla. -- Freshman Anabelle Standish led the Hatters with a season-high 15 kills as Stetson defeated UNF 3-2 in game 1 of an ASUN series Friday night at UNF Arena. 

Stetson (6-6, 5-6 ASUN) got off to a quick 5-0 start in the fifth set and posted a .444 attack percentage for the frame.  Overall, the Hatters won by scores of 25-22, 19-25, 25-23, 15-25, 15-12 to improve to 6-6 on the season.  It was Stetson's second consecutive five-set match, but the Hatters came out on the winning end on Friday after falling 3-2 to Jacksonville on Wednesday.

In addition to Standish, Kaylee Oscarson (14 kills) and Alexis Thompson (11 kills) also reached double figures in kills for the Hatters.  Naina Ivanova recorded her seventh double-double (43 assists, 10 digs), and Chelcie Spence (17 digs) and Alejandra Perez (14 digs) eached picked up double digit digs.

The Hatters have now won 2-of-3 vs. UNF (8-9, 7-4) this season with one more regular season meeting to go Saturday night. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. with live coverage on ESPN+.
