Hatters Fall 1-0 in Series Finale at Jacksonville

Jacksonville, Fla. -- Mackenzie Buss hit a two-out, walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift Jacksonville to a 1-0 victory over Stetson Tuesday afternoon at the Pruitt Softball Complex.

The victory gave the Dolphins (16-7, 4-2 ASUN) a sweep of the three-game ASUN Conference series that began on Saturday.

Danielle Diaz went 2-for-2 with a pair of singles to lead the Hatters (4-12, 0-6 ASUN). Lizzie Shubert hit a sixth-inning double, and Riley Russell singled and stole a base.

Chloe Temples suffered the tough-luck defeat despite allowing just three hits and striking out a career-high nine batters.  She retired the first 12 in a row she faced.

The Hatters will play their first ASUN home series of the season this weekend when they host the UNF Ospreys.  Game times are now scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday (DH) and 1 p.m. Sunday.
