Hatters Downed by ASUN-Leading Ospreys

Jacksonville, Fla. -- Stetson women's soccer battled for 90 minutes, but the Hatters were unable to crack ASUN-leading UNF, falling to the Ospreys, 1-0, Sunday night in Jacksonville.
 
The Hatters (1-5-1, 0-4-1 ASUN) kept the prolific UNF offense off the board for over 70 minutes of play. The Ospreys (8-1, 5-0 ASUN) took the lead for good in the 75th minute on a goal from Vanessa Piermont. Carmel Oliviera was credited with the assist.
 
The Hatters took six shots in the match to the Ospreys 14. Goalkeeper Ashleigh Wise finished with five saves in the match.
 
Facing a UNF team averaging over two goals per contest, the Hatters had their work cut out for them. For Stetson head coach Chris Bergmann, success for the Hatters comes down to execution.
 
"I though we came out strong in the first half," Bergmann said. "Stopping teams has never been our problem. For us it just comes down to finishing our opportunities. (UNF) had one chance. They converted, and that was the difference."
 
The Hatters will head home to close out the regular season against FGCU, Friday, April 2, at 7 p.m.
