Hatters Downed by FAU, 5-2

DeLAND--Florida Atlantic downed Stetson, 5-2, in a non-conference men's tennis match, Friday at Mandy Stoll Tennis Center.
 
FAU opened play by winning the doubles point. The Owls took a 6-4 win on Court 1, and a 6-3 victory on Court 2 to win the point. Stetson's No. 3 doubles team of Alexandre Hillhouse & Antoine Sanchez earned a 6-4 victory for Stetson.
 
With FAU leading 1-0, Stetson quickly evened the match as play moved into singles action. Diogo Marques breezed to a 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 2.
 
But the Hatters dropped the next four singles matches, giving FAU a team victory.
 
Sven Thiergard sent the Hatters home on a bit of a high note with a 6-3, 4-6, 7-5 win at No. 6.
 
The Hatters next take on UCF, Noon, Sunday, in Lake Nona.
