Hatters Edged at Charleston Southern

Stetson women's Tennis suffered a 4-3 loss on Sunday to Charleston Southern in Charleston S.C.
 
Stetson (2-3) held a 3-2 lead in the match with two singles matches remaining but couldn't hold on for the win.
 
"We are pretty disappointed about the result today," Stetson head coach Travis Sandlant said. "We put ourselves in a great. commanding situation but failed to close. Credit to CSU for their fight. Tomorrow we will look to battle again."
 
The Hatters lost the doubles point but quickly bounced back as Elodie Foster earned a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 6 singles.
 
After Charleston Southern picked up a win at No. 2, the Hatters got wins from Noa Cohen (6-0, 6-4) and Anais Gabriel (7-5, 6-0) on courts 5 and 4, respectively, to gain a 3-2 lead in the team scoring.
 
But Charleston Southern rallied for three-set victories on courts 1 and 3 to win the match.
 
The Hatters return to action when they visit South Carolina State, 10 a.m., Monday.
