Hatters Return to Form at South Carolina State

Stetson women's tennis bounced back from a disappointing loss on Sunday to record a convincing win on Monday as the Hatters downed South Carolina State, 4-1, in Orangeburg, S.C.
 
The Hatters won the doubles point and took three of four completed singles matches to get the win on Monday. Head coach Travis Sandlant was pleased to see his team rebound.
 
"It was a tough match, Sandlant said. "It was good for us to get back on track."
 
The doubles teams of Katie Kubicz/Brooke Milner and Anais Gabriel/Noa Cohen secured doubles wins for the Hatters, giving them a 1-0 lead as play moved to singles.
 
Cohen gave the Hatters a 2-0 lead with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 5 singles and, after South Carolina State picked up a win at No. 4, Elodie Foster made it 3-1 with a 6-1, 6-3 victory at No. 6.
 
Anais Gabriel clinched the match for the Hatters with a 6-2, 6-3 triumph at No. 3.
 
The Hatters return to action when they face UNC Wilmington on Friday in Hilton Head, S.C.
