Hatters Add Lauren Vargo to the Volleyball Program

DeLand, Fla. -- Stetson volleyball head coach Yang Deng announced the addition of defensive specialist Lauren Vargo (Oviedo, Fla. / Winter Springs HS) to the program for the fall of 2021.

A 5-4 DS/libero, Vargo collected over 1000 digs in her career at Winter Springs. She was a three-time all-conference performer and helped lead the Bears to two district championships and a regional championship in 2019. She averaged over 4.0 digs-per-set as a senior and picked up 32 digs in a match against Oviedo. She also helped Winter Springs win the Seminole County beach volleyball championship in 2019.

"Lauren is a very athletic player who will have the opportunity to be a part of our foundation in the back row," Deng said. "She has excellent passing and ball control skills. I also like her maturity and knowledge of the game. That will be a huge plus for us and our young team next year."

Vargo joins Nyah Molina, Leilani Vitale and Beatriz Vossen as additions to the program for the fall of 2021.
