Robinson to Be Inducted into High Schools of DeLand Sports Hall of Fame

DeLand, Fla. -- Stetson University softball head coach Shellie Robinson will be inducted into the High Schools of DeLand Sports Hall of Fame on Friday, October 22. The induction will take place at halftime of the DeLand-Flagler Palm Coast football game at Spec Martin Stadium in DeLand.

Robinson, a DeLand native, garnered numerous career awards with the DeLand Bulldogs, including FHSAA 6A Offensive Player of the Year, Orlando Sentinel Central Florida Player of the Year, BrightHouse Networks Player of the Year, Daytona Beach News-Journal Athlete of the Year and Volusia County Player of the Year twice.

Robinson went to play collegiate softball at USC Upstate where she was a two-time ASUN Player of the Year and an NFCA All-American.  She was inducted into the USC Upstate Athletics Hall of Fame in 2020.

Following her career with the Spartans, Robinson was drafted 23rd overall by Akron in the 2015 National Pro Fastpitch draft.  She played three seasons for the Racers, earning all-NPF team honors in 2017.

Robinson returned to her hometown as an assistant coach with the Stetson Hatters in 2019. She was elevated to head coach this past July.

Robinson will be inducted as part of a Hall of Fame class that includes Walter Anderson, Rick Calkins, and Toussiant Roberson.
