Hatters Fall to Liberty in ASUN Opener

DeLand, Fla. -- Mya Berkman scored 21 points on 9-of-10 shooting as Liberty defeated Stetson 65-49 in the conference opener Wednesday night at the Edmunds Center.

Jordan Bailey added 14 points for the Flames (13-1, 1-0), who won their 10th game in a row.  The Hatters dropped to 7-7, 0-1.

Tatiana Streun led Stetson with 12 points off the bench, marking her third straight game in double figures.  Mali Morgan-Elliott scored seven points and hit the only 3-pointers of the night for the Hatters. Stetson went just 2-of-16 from behind the arc.

Jamiya Turner pulled down a team-high seven rebounds, Kiya Turner dished out four assists, and Yazz Wazeerud-Din collected three steals.

The Hatters will travel to Jacksonville, Fla. to face the UNF Ospreys at 2 p.m. Saturday.
