Alyssa Hargrove Named ASUN Newcomer of the Week

ATLANTA - Stetson University freshman guard Alyssa Hargrove (Huber Heights, Ohio) has been named ASUN Newcomer of the Week, the league announced on Monday. It is her third weekly honor from the ASUN this season and the sixth for the Hatters.

Hargrove averaged 15.5 points and 3.5 rebounds-per-game to help lead Stetson to a 1-1 week. She shot 55 percent from the floor and 43 percent from the arc while averaging 33.5 minutes-per-game.

On Thursday, Hargrove helped the Hatters extend their win streak to eight in a row with a 12-point effort against Jacksonville. She then scored a team-high 19 points Saturday on the road at Liberty, going 7-for-12 from the floor and 3-for-5 from the arc. Her three triples were a season-high.

For the season, Hargrove is averaging 7.6 points and 3.5 boards while collecting 38 assists and 34 steals. She earned ASUN Freshman of the Week honors back on Dec. 20 and Jan. 31.

The Hatters (16-11, 9-5) will travel to Kennesaw State Thursday night looking to sew up the No. 3 seed in the East.
