Hatters Stay Hot, Down UNF 59-47 for Senior Day Victory

Stetson Heads Into the Postseason on a 10-1 Streak

DeLand, Fla. -- Yazz Wazeerud-Din celebrated senior day with an 18-point effort and the Hatter defense delivered another lockdown performance as Stetson closed the regular season with a 59-47 victory over UNF Saturday afternoon at the Edmunds Center.

Trailing by two with 6:04 to go, the Hatters (18-11, 11-5 ASUN) closed the game on a 14-0 run to post their 10th win in their last 11 games.

Stetson will ride that momentum into the postseason as the East's No. 3 seed and will host the West's No. 6 seed Bellarmine at 6 p.m. Wednesday night.

Wazeerud-Din led all scorers Saturday with 18 points, adding four rebounds, four steals, and two assists. Her 3-point play with 5:38 to go started the run and gave Stetson the lead for good.  She, along with graduates Tatiana Streun and Ayanna Dublin, were honored in pregame ceremonies prior to tip-off.

Jamiya Turner added eight points and 13 rebounds as Stetson outrebounded UNF 47-39.

Jazz Bond registered a 12-point, 12-rebound double-double for the Ospreys (12-16, 5-11).

With 18 victories on the season, Stetson has its highest win total since 2016-17 (26). Lynn Bria earned her 250th coaching victory with the Hatters.

Stetson leads the all-time series 2-1 over Bellarmine, including a 64-53 win earlier this season.
