Men’s Rowing Heads South to Face Rollins & FIT

The Stetson University men's rowing team will venture away from the home waters of Lake Beresford for the first time this spring on Saturday when the squad travels south to row on the St. Sebastian River near Fellsmere against teams from Rollins and Florida Tech.

Racing is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. from the Canal 54 launch near St. Sebastian High School.

"Our first road trip of the spring will be a challenge," Hatters coach Jamie Francis said. "Rollins has several races under the belt and I'm sure they'll be competitive. FIT's first race was canceled a couple weeks ago due to weather, but we'll be on their race course and they'll be ready to defend it."

This will be the final day of head-to-head racing for the Hatters before the team heads into a stretch of four consecutive major competitions over the next two months, starting with the FIRA State Championship April 1-2 in Sarasota.

Race Schedule
9:00 a.m.                Varsity 8
9:20 a.m.                Varsity 4
9:40 a.m.                Men's 2
