Preview
Winners of three straight and 11 of 12, the No. 3 East seed Stetson Hatters (19-11) will face the No. 2 West seed North Alabama Lions (13-15) in the quarterfinals of the 2022 ASUN Conference Championship Sunday afternoon in Florence.  Tip-off at Flowers Arena is set for 4:30 p.m. ET with live coverage on ESPN+.  The winner will advance to Wednesday's semifinals at a site to be determined after reseeding.


All-Time Series vs. North Alabama - 9th Meeting
The all-time series between Stetson and North Alabama is tied 4-4.  The Hatters defeated the Lions 75-43 earlier this season in Florence.  UNA has won three of the four all-time meetings in Florence, including the only postseason meeting between the two schools in March, 2020.

When Last We Met
Stetson hits a season-high 11 3-pointers in a dominating 75-43 ASUN road victory at North Alabama on Jan. 22.  Senior guard Yazz Wazeerud-Din went 7-for-8 from the floor and 4-for-5 from the arc for a team-high 18 points. Mali Morgan-Elliott and (14 points) and Jamiya Turner (12 points) joined Wazeerud-Din in double figures. That victory ignited Stetson's current 11-1 streak.

By The Numbers: 19
The number of victories the Hatters have this season.  One more win will give the Hatters their eighth 20-win season under head coach Lynn Bria, and their 10th 20-win season all-time.

Team Defense
The Hatters have held 18 of their 30 opponents to under 60 points this season, and they are 16-2 in those games.  At 55.7 points allowed per game, Stetson's defense ranks second in the ASUN and 26th in the NCAA. The Hatters also rank 45th in the NCAA in field goal pct. defense (.366).

►    Advance to the ASUN semifinals for the eighth time in the past 12 years
►    Win its fourth in a row and improve to 12-1 in the past 13 games

After the quarterfinals are played, the bracket will be reset where the top remaining seed will host the lowest remaining seed, and second-highest remaining seed will host the third-highest remaining seed.  Here is the current seeding as of the start of the tournament:

Streun Stepping Out
After hitting a total of 23 3-pointers in four total seasons at Portland State, Tatiana Streun has unleashed 26 triples in her grad season at Stetson, including 23 in conference play.  She leads the team in 3-point field goal pct. (.400).

Take It Away 
For the second straight year, Yazz Wazeerud-Din leads the ASUN in steals (64) and steals-per-game (2.21). She currently ranks 45th in the NCAA with 62 steals. 

The Head Coach
Head Coach Lynn Bria is in her 14th season with the Hatters and 27th season overall. The all-time winningest coach in program history, Bria holds a Stetson record of 251-189. She has 404 career victories.

  • Yazz Wazeerud-Din needs two 3-pointers for 100 career
  • In Stetson's first 30 games this season, the team leading at halftime has gone on to win the game 24 times
