DELAND, Fla. – Stetson men's soccer will go to Liberty to face the Flames on Saturday night* at 6p.m., located at Osborne Stadium in Lynchburg, Virginia.
"It can be a positive for us," head coach
Emmett Rutkowski said "I'm looking forward to preparing for it because Liberty has had some really good results. They have drawn a Maryland team that has been ranked eighth in the nation. They played UCLA tight and two of the top teams in our league. They are a really strong team and it's going to be the same thing like playing UCA when you play a team with a strong RPI. Kelly [Findley] is a really good coach and every time we play they are always well prepared."
The Hatters, despite the loss to UCA over the weekend in the last match, maintain a spot near the top of the table with six points from three matches defeating newcomer Queens and North Florida scoring a pair of goals in each match.
The impending storms that will be hitting the central Florida area have already forced a travel issue for the departing team as they will be traveling the distance to Lynchburg by bus.
The Hatters have played Liberty four times with twice occurring last season. LU got the better of Stetson in DeLand [2-1] but fell to the Hatters in the tournament 48 days later, 3-0, in the ASUN tournament.

Eight players have notched assists with senior midfielder Marko Mitrevski the only player with multiple marks on the season at three. In their last five matches, Liberty has won one with a pair of losses and two draws. The top pair of goalkeepers for Liberty both have significant minutes with sophomore Blake Frazen staying on the pitch for 405 minutes thus far and senior Danny Cordero spending 315 minutes between the pipes. Both save around 71 percent of shots with a solo clean sheet and combined clean sheet.
As for on the pitch, redshirt junior
Owen Jack is near the top of ASUN statistical goalkeeping categories with the top spot in saves [34], second in save percentage [.810] and fourth in goals against average [1.14].
On the offensive side, nine players have registered a goal in play this season, spearheaded by junior midfielder
